In mid-2022 as I was attempting to tailor my photography website to my specific needs, I discovered a growing interest in computers and coding. This intrigue led me to acquire knowledge in various technologies and tools as programming became a hobby that I enjoy greatly. Having realized the value of programming knowledge I have dedicated myself to continuous learning in the software space. With the emergence of modern AI, I plan to utilize new technologies to increase my productivity and effectiveness in different areas of business and personal life.
A Discord Bot that was built to be my personal assistant as well as provide entertainment for my Discord servers. Utilizing REST API's from OpenAI, it interacts with various ChatGPT models, has image generation functionality, and generates purpose-built data depending on which customized model is called on. Some examples include a marketing guru, a blog writer, a code-interviewer, a travel agent and vacation planner, all programmed to my personal preferences and interests. Various other REST API's from joke and quote databases also allow this bot to provide random useless facts, tell chuck Norris jokes, and give quotes from Kanye West, Donald Trump, and Ron Swanson. This bot is a work in progress and will grow in functionality as I find new ways to use AI.
This is a novel project inspired by platforms like Character.ai. The concept is to build a React application as a central hub that interfaces with OpenAI's GPT-4 REST API to create distinct, interactive 'characters', each infused with unique 'personalities'. This directly builds on my experience with creating similar interactive bots for Discord using the GPT-4 API. Although the idea has parallels with certain existing applications, my project aims to bring a unique spin, optimizing user interaction and providing an improved and seamless browser experience.

Since I was a kid I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. My first enterprise started way back in 7th grade when I started a cold beverage service, before my school had any vending machines. I provided private fishing guide services in the Eastern Sierras in my early twenties as a side gig when I wasn't managing a fishing marina. For a number of years in the summer months I promoted my own trail-head shuttle services between Bishop Pass and Yosemite National Park to aid backpackers who were entering and exiting the John Muir wilderness. When Covid shut down the National Parks, where I was working at the time, I created a photography company that has been my main source of income for the last few years. In my most recent endeavor, my wife and I opened a home-based candle company selling custom designer candles online.
